- Summary
You likely won’t use maltodextrin by itself in a recipe — but you will find it in products like Splenda or Stevia in the Raw Bakers Bag. Some companies also sell maltodextrin supplements, which are marketed as an easy-digesting fuel for runners and cyclists.
Starting in January 2022, the USDA will require companies to disclose if foods are bioengineered. These are foods with detectable genetic material that’s been changed in the lab and can’t be made through normal breeding or found in nature, per the USDA. Organic foods cannot have GMOs, per the USDA. Just be sure to look for the official USDA organic label.
