Calories in restaurant versions may be comparable; one Thai eatery's thom kha gai contains 357 calories in a serving of 1.5 cups. If you're making soup at home, you can reduce the calorie count by using less coconut milk, which is very rich at 455 calories per cup, according to the USDA Nutrient Database.
