Types of Cheese Available
According to the Subway website, the restaurant chain offers sliced processed American, provolone, pepper jack, Swiss and cheddar cheese. Subway also offers a shredded Monterey blend.

Calories in the Cheeses
A serving is for one 6-inch Subway sandwich and is typically around 11 to 14 grams of cheese, which amounts to two triangles. Per serving, American cheese has 40 calories, and cheddar has 60 calories. The remaining sliced cheeses all provide 50 calories per serving. The shredded Monterey blend contains 50 calories per 14-gram serving. The cheeses contain between 3.5 and 5 grams of fat per serving.

Healthy Consideration
If you are concerned about your overall calorie intake, consider choosing the lower-calorie cheeses more often or omitting cheese from your sandwich or salad altogether.
